Join the Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science for October’s The Club, featuring a special guided history tour of Body Slam: A History of Pro Wrestling in Evansville, Indiana.
Led by community wrestling expert Sean Dulaney, this free tour offers an opportunity to explore the exhibition from a local historian’s perspective. Dulaney will share additional stories, historical context, and insights into the people and events that shaped Evansville’s professional wrestling history.
The Museum doors open at 11:00 AM, with the guided tour beginning at 11:15 AM.

Step into the ring and discover the larger-than-life history of professional wrestling in Evansville, Indiana.
Body Slam explores the deep roots of professional wrestling in the community and its enduring place in Evansville’s entertainment history. The exhibition highlights legendary performers, local wrestling personalities, memorable venues, costumes, and stories from behind the scenes.
Visitors can discover the stories of the people and places that helped shape Evansville’s wrestling legacy, including the history of Evansville’s first female professional wrestler. The exhibition also features costumes created locally by Jan Rhodes, proprietor of Jan’s Fashions & Costumes, for professional wrestlers Hugh Morrus and Randy “Macho Man” Savage.
Whether you grew up watching professional wrestling, remember attending matches in Evansville, or are simply interested in this unique chapter of local history, Body Slam offers a closer look at the performers, personalities, craftsmanship, and stories behind the spectacle.
The exhibition is presented in partnership with the Burris Noelting Family Fund, Dennis and Margaret Haire, Rick and Janet Zeiher, and Bill and Kathy Bartelt.
Sean Dulaney is a writer, artist, editor, and broadcaster from Southeastern Illinois with a longstanding interest in professional wrestling and popular culture.
In recent years, Dulaney has spearheaded the annual radio show recreation during Metropolis, Illinois’ Superman Celebration. Building on his 400 Court Street podcast, he is currently writing a series of books documenting the history of professional wrestling in Evansville.
The Club is a free monthly program for adults designed to provide opportunities to meet new people, take a break, and learn something new. Each gathering features a special presentation, program, or tour.
Board games and snacks are provided, and The Club also includes the Kids’ Zone, where children and grandchildren can play while adults participate in the program. Children remain safely within their accompanying adults’ eyesight.
There is no fee to attend The Club, although donations are gratefully accepted. RSVPs are not required, but larger groups are encouraged to call ahead.
Please note: The Club will not meet in November.
