Look to the skies for our next Star Party: Venus vs. Vega! ✨🔭

This evening, we’re putting the spotlight on Vega, one of the brightest and most recognizable stars in the night sky. We’ll explore this brilliant star, learn more about what makes it so fascinating, and spend the evening looking up at the cosmos.

And what about Venus? While Venus is rarely visible from Evansville during our Star Parties, it still gets its moment in the spotlight! We’ll feature a compilation of films by legendary French filmmaker Georges Méliès, including the imaginative classics A Trip to the Moon and An Impossible Voyage. These fantastical films take audiences on journeys far beyond Earth—making Venus the perfect celestial co-star for the evening. 🌙🚀

Following our celestial exploration, settle in for a compilation of Méliès films filled with early cinematic magic, fantastical adventures, and visions of worlds beyond our own.

🇺🇸 A Special 250th Celebration

September 26 is also our 250th Super Saturday, making this Star Party an extra-special opportunity to celebrate America at 250 with us. From exploring our history and culture inside the Museum to looking toward the stars outside, there’s plenty to discover!
