STERN SECTIONS OF SHIPYARD'S FIRST THREE SHIPS

The first three ships constructed at the Shipyard were LSTs 157, 158 and 159. Installing the stern was a two-step process. In this image, LST 157, closest to the Ohio River, has received the lower section of its stern and awaits the installation of the upper stern section.
