As many of the workers coming to the Evansville Shipyard did not have industrial production skills, Missouri Valley Bridge and Iron Company established schools to train men and women in the skills necessary to build LSTs. This image depicts the Division of Training that was located in the old Crescent Furniture Company building at First Avenue and Franklin Street. This school offered training in general shipbuilding skills.
