GENERAL VIEW OF THE SHIPYARD

General View

This dramatic shot, taken in May of 1943 looking down the Ohio River, illustrates the size of the Evansville Shipyard--the largest employer in the City's history. In this view are some of the Shipyard's ten building ways, the launching ramp and outfitting docks. In the background, are a SIGECO power plant and Reitz High School--on the hill.
