Mars Egg Drop
12:45 p.m 3:45 p.m.
Ever wanted to drop an egg off the Museum's Terrace? Well, this activity allows
visitors to do just that. However, the objective is not to smash the egg but instead to make
it land safely, in one piece, on the surface below.
Over three years ago, two Mars Exploration Rovers by the names of Spirit and Opportunity landed
on the planet of Mars. Join Evansville Astronomical Society member, Tony Bryan, as he teaches
vistors how those rovers landed on the Martian surface.
Each visitor will have the opportunity to build their own Mars lander and test it to see if
their precious cargo, an egg, will survive the harsh landing.
